Let the Holidays begin!

Decorating for the holidays is a much-anticipated and exciting time at our house. It takes days! This year, Grandma Kris and the kids put her village up under our tree. Even after they were in bed, she was up into the late hours of the night, adding her finishing touches and detail to make it just perfect. New tradition?! Hopefully, since she just lives downstairs she can add this magical addition to our tree each year. Kayla eagerly awaits stories and loves it when Grandma Elaine comes to visit to read her a Christmas story from her little stack on our fireplace hearth. We have been talking about our ancestors from Germany on the Wilson side of the family, Grandma Lola Priebe Wilson. In Germany, on the evening of December 5th, kids set out their boots for Santa Claus. If they have been good, he will put nuts, oranges, and goodies in them. Paden, Tyce and Kayla thought this was fun to wake up the next morning and find their treasures!
