ARIZONA OR BUST!

Tuesday, Feb. 3rd, we left for our get-out-of-the-inversion trip to Arizona. We stopped in Cedar City to visit Laura and Tyler and to cut the drive in half. (Best bed and breakfast in town, by the way.) The next morning it was off to Tonto Verde, AZ, where we would spend a few nights at the Brody's, some great friends of Blake's from Seattle. But first we had to deal with many pit stops, two throw-up messes (car sickness got the best of Tyce), and being slightly lost. We spent two days there swimming, enjoying the sun, biking, and golfing for Blake and the boys. What a great time we had! Con and Shirley, we couldn't have been treated better!

Catchin' some rays

Chillin' out with dad

How am I doin', Con?

Nice swing, Paden

Steady, focus, and . . . swing

I get it!

One thing we can't climb!

What I think about more DRIVING!

Thanks for a great time!

Friday we went to the Phoenix Zoo and met up with Kim & Chris' family. After a long day, we took the kids to Tia Rosa's for awesome Mexican food! That night we stayed with Kim's parents in Mesa.

Lots of kids, lots of FUN

Monkeys in the treetops

Let's see those monkey faces

Saturday, Annie decided to brave it with the kids, sack lunches, and Mapquest and venture to the AZ Science Center in downtown Phoenix. Paden was insistant that we go since Utah has nothing near this big and he has become obsessed with science! It was so worth going. The boy's favorite exhitbits were Forces of Nature, My Digital World, and Get Charged Up!

Our favorite science exhibit

What?! Rain, wind, fire, earthquakes!

A REAL Hudson Hornet!

That night we got babysitters for 9 kids and went with Kim's family to Maggiano's in Scottsdale. (The BEST Italian food!) We celebrated Kim's 30th birthday along with her twin brother, Andy. After a little karaoke until midnight, we hit the sack so we could start our trip home at 6am the next morning. And happy to say . . . no throw-up messes or getting lost, just a LONG drive!
Happy 30th Kim and Andy!

Ready for a sleepy Sunday drive back home?
